In your first year you have just trained twenty-one people and need nothing. From the second year the credit exists to replace the Leader who moves on, which is the real long term risk, and the fee and the credit are the same number. A school that uses its credit pays nothing in net terms to stay accredited and gains a qualified member of staff every year it does.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch3\u003eWhy three, six and twelve\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThis is a staffing structure, not a total. It is the shape of a school where outdoor learning is part of how children are taught rather than something that happens on Thursdays if the weather holds.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eThree Level 3 Leaders.\u003c\/strong\u003e A Level 3 Leader plans, risk assesses and runs sustained provision on their own professional authority. One gives you a programme. Three gives you three groups outdoors at once, cover when somebody is ill, and a programme that continues when one of them moves on. In a sector where two and three year contracts are normal, depth at this level is not a luxury. It is the only real protection your investment has.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eSix Level 2 Assistants.\u003c\/strong\u003e Ratios decide what a child is actually permitted to do. At thin ratios an adult says no to the tool, no to the fire, no to the child who wants to go further up the slope, because supervision has run out. At proper ratios the same adult says yes, and that yes is where confidence and risk competence come from. Six assistants means every session is supported and your Leaders spend their time teaching rather than counting heads.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eTwelve at Level 1.\u003c\/strong\u003e This is the part schools underestimate. Twelve members of staff with a working understanding of the approach means outdoor learning stops being the property of the specialists. It costs evidence, and evidence takes two or three years of real practice, as it should. The staffing, which is the part that takes longest and costs most, is already done on day one.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch3\u003eThe cost, honestly\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e£15,000 across twenty-one people is £714 each.\u003c\/strong\u003e A single international Level 3 place is £1,400.
