Beach Schools is a long-term, child-led approach to learning that takes place in coastal environments. It applies the same nature pedagogy that underpins Forest Schools, adapted for beaches, dunes, estuaries, and shorelines. Children engage with tides, rockpools, sand, driftwood, and the living coastline to build confidence, curiosity, emotional resilience, and ecological awareness.
Is this the same qualification as a face-to-face course?
Yes. The online pathway leads to the same Ofqual-regulated Level 3 Certificate through Open Awards. The qualification is identical. The difference is how you learn, not what you earn.
Do I need any prior Beach Schools or Forest Schools experience?
No. The course is designed for beginners. If you have any experience working with children, you have the foundation you need. The modules build your knowledge and practical understanding from the ground up.
How long does the course take to complete?
